Due to popular demand, we're delighted to announce a new add-on available to all backers effective immediately.
Prepare to immerse yourself even further into the world of The Dark Castle with The Story Pack - a total of 16 dark tales penned by published game-writer and co-designer of Escape the Dark Castle, Thomas Pike.
The Story Pack

What you get:
- 9 Character Origin Stories, each delving into the personalities of the prisoners, and of course the dark events which led to their incarceration in the depths of the Dark Castle. Each story will be approx. 1000 words.
- 6 Boss Legends, offering up what little is known about the vile overlords of the Dark Castle, and how they are each believed to have wrought their despicable paths to dark power. Each Legend will be approx.1000 words.
- A tale from the dark. A horror story set in the world of the Dark Castle, sure to curdle your blood. Do not read it alone…
Approx 2000 words.
How it works:
To claim this add-on, simply choose “manage my pledge” and increase your total pledge amount by £8. When the campaign ends, we’ll explain how to specify exactly which items you want your total pledged amount to go towards.
The story pack is a digital item and will be delivered to all backers when the game launches.
The stories are in English only.
There is no additional shipping cost to claim this add-on.
If you have already pledged at the boss level, we are automatically upgrading your pledge to include this pack at no extra cost.

Did you play Escape the Dark Castle at UK Games Expo, or at one of the other events we attended during the Kickstarter campaign?
If you did, we’d really appreciate it if you rated the game on Board Game Geek.
For those who don’t know, Board Game Geek is the biggest board games website out there – the premier directory, hub and news source for all things gaming.

Wow!
The £45k stretch goal has been defeated, which means another Kickstarter exclusive Boss card has been added to the base set contents for all backers.
Be warned, this Boss will not be defeated as easily as the stretch goals were!

Fresh off our artist’s easel, here is a peek at how the artwork for your first Kickstarter exclusive Boss is coming along.
We give you, The Master of Darkness!
The Master of Darkness may be blind, but he sees more than you know!
Unlike most bosses, who usually present a single (albeit formidable) threat, the Master of Darkness fights alongside a vicious gargoyle from the castle towers, which swoops to make an additional attack against the players each round.
This boss was unlocked when the project passed the £35k mark, and is just one of the additional cards now being added to the game at no extra cost to backers.
Keep pledging and sharing to unlock more exclusive rewards like this one – we still have some great new stretch goals ahead of us!
