Shipping Update

We know how it feels to be waiting for an exciting package to arrive, it can be an emotional rollercoaster. To help settle the nerves, here are a few notes on how things are going with the fulfilment of Escape the Dark Castle.
The Spread
With over 2000 parcels going out to some 42 countries over the course of a week or so, there are understandably a huge number of variables which inevitably lead to quite a wide spread of both despatch dates and arrival dates. We are hearing that shipping confirmation emails are starting to arrive, and a few of you even have games in hand already - you lucky devils. However, many of you won't have had either of those things yet and there is no need to be alarmed. The fulfilment center has been working hard all week to get our massive shipment picked and packed, but it was just too much to get it all finished before the weekend. There will be another batch of orders going out early next week so if you haven't heard anything please be assured firstly that you are not alone, and secondly that you are next in line. Nobody will be forgotten, and we'll post an update when shipping is 100% complete.
Digital Items
Early next week we will be posting an update with full details of how to claim our digital items. As a reminder, those items include the original soundtrack (free to all backers) and the Story Pack for those who purchased it (or who backed at Boss level).
It has been a long journey, but it's finally all coming together.

The fulfilment process begins...

While this stage of the process is a little out of our hands, we wanted to let you know that we spoke to the fulfilment center this morning and everything is in order.
Today is their first day back after the New Year break, and we are not their only client, and it is a short week, so we need to cut them a little slack while they get back up to speed. Nevertheless, they seem confident it can all happen over the course of the next few days.
So sit tight - our parcels should be on the move before the week is out.

I rarely write from a personal perspective when I do these updates, but at this reflective time of year I think it is appropriate.
At the beginning of 2017, we had a basic prototype and little else. On this, the last day of the year, there are now thousands of final production copies of Escape the Dark Castle about to hit the market. I find this amazing, and needless to say it has changed my life. It wasn't easy, and there were times of extreme doubt along the way, but in the process I learned one thing in particular, something which is important to share while I have this modest platform: it is never too late to change the direction of your life. If there is a dream you have not pursued, now is the time. It takes courage, sacrifice and above all hard work, but it's absolutely worth it. That is the attitude I will be taking forward into 2018, and I urge you all to do the same - aim high, follow your gut, and take the plunge.
With that, we sign off for the year. I want to thank our amazing community of Kickstarter backers once again, more than 2000 of you in 42 countries around the world. We hope to continue making great games for you in the coming years, and we can't wait to announce the next chapter of Themeborne's story. This is only the beginning.

Excellent news - our shipment has cleared customs.
This is perhaps the best Christmas present we could have wished for. It means we are back on course to ship to backers in the first week of January.
